Swing Set Announces
BEGINNER BASICS and beyond for WEST COAST SWING

AVANT GARDE BALLROOM, Newport Beach Ca.... May 3 & 17

Special West Coast Swing Workshops with CARRIE LUCAS. Every 1st & 3rd Saturday morning. Carrie will be teaching her special Styling technique, turns, and basic patterns for West Coast Swing. The workshops will include BODY MOVEMENT done to music to help you become more flexible and comfortable with the Dance steps, followed by a complete review of the basic patterns for WEST COAST SWING! This is a Unique way to learn to Dance and have FUN at the same time!  

2-HOUR SCHEDULE 10am - Noon (Have Fun but don't get over-loaded!)

10-11am: FUN BODY MOVEMENT & FOOTWORK TO MUSIC! LEARNING THE

THREE RHYTHMS OF SWING

11-12am: NOW YOU KNOW THE RHYTHM'S AND PUT THE PATTERNS TOGETHER!

Where:  Bea Hive Ballroom in Garden Grove (click here for directions)

  • 6:00 - 7:00pm   Beginning West Coast Swing with Jack Berard
     
  • 7:00pm - 10:30pm  Open Dance  -- dance to the great tunes of DJ Jack Berard

  • Latin Dance Store will be open, be sure to stop by to see their beautiful dresses, shoes and dance accessories

What:  4th Saturday Workshops and Dance

When:  Saturday, April 26th

Where:  Avant Garde Ballroom II (directions & map)

  • 3:30pm - 5pm: Ladies Styling $15 -- concentration on body awareness and movement, syncopations and styling by Carrie
     
  • 5 - 6pm: Partnering $12 -- beginning/intermediate WCS, emphasis on men's and ladies styling while dancing patterns taught by Carrie, women can practice what they learned in the styling class
     
  • 6 - 7pm: Dinner Break
     
  • 7 - 8pm:  Country 2 step with Jack Berard
     
     
  • 8 - Midnight: DANCE $10
